Left Command Key Issue with Apple Magic Wired Keyboard on Intel iMac

I'm running a 2017 Intel iMac , Ventura 13.7.2 with a wired magic keyboard.

Just Recently the left Command key, which had been working fine, only performs certain tasks. So I can use command tab to switch between open software, save, quit, open etc but copy and paste dosen't work.

It is not application specific with the same issue in every app and system control.

I have gone through the system settings restoring all keyboard shortcuts to default without any change.

If I bring up the keyboard viewer it highlights the command key when pressed along with the c key but the copy function doesn't happen, instead it types the letter c like the command wasn't held down.

The RHS command key works just fine.

I have been able to connect my laptop to share keyboard and mouse function and there are no issues so it would seem likely to be a hardware issue.

I use copy and paste all the time so it's really annoying having to use the RHS command key.

Any solution to this would be much appreciated but I think the keyboard will need to be replaced.
