How can I sync my new Apple Pencil with my iPad?

My dog chewed up my Apple Pencil. So I bought a new one. The old one still works and is still synced with my iPad. I want to remove that chewed up pencil and replace it with my new pencil. I can’t figure out how to do that

Before you can pair your new Apple Pencil ... you didn't mention what model it is, but I'm assuming that you have an Apple Pencil USB-C since you have an iPad mini 6.

To unpair the old pencil:

Go to Settings on your iPad.
Scroll down and select Bluetooth.
Find your old Apple Pencil in the list of paired devices.
Tap the Info (i) button next to it.
Select Forget This Device and confirm. This will unpair the chewed-up Apple Pencil from your iPad.

To pair your new pencil:

Plug your new pencil into the USB-C port on your iPad.
A pop-up will appear on the screen, asking if you want to pair the Apple Pencil.
Tap Pair to establish the connection.
