Dual monitors using remote desktop

I have the same issue described previously in this thread: I use an iMac at home with dual monitors and remote desktop to my work computer, which is a PC with dual monitors. When I check the "Use all my monitors for the remote session" option in the remote desktop session, the session still only uses one of my home monitors (i.e. the iMac). The only change is that I can now drag a window on the remote session off the screen [and cannot drag it back as it is now on the secondary display at work, but not visible at home]). And yes, my home computer is set with the display extended, not mirrored.

I tried remoting to my work PC from another PC at work (same network) and it functions as intended. The PC from which I am connecting to my personal work PC uses both monitors as designed (assuming I check the "Use all my monitors for the remote session". Any additional suggestions are welcomed.

You may have better luck getting help with that in Microsoft's own communities or with their support resources, though someone here may have suggestions. Microsoft appears to be replacing Remote Desktop with "Windows App" so if you can't find a resolution for Remote Desktop, you can see if this new application will work better:

Microsoft Remote Desktop. Below is a screenshot showing that I select the option to use all monitors. That does cause the computer at work to extend to the second display, but my computer (the iMac) at home continues to use only the main monitor. If I drag something off the main home monitor, it disappears and cannot be retrieved. That is, it gets dragged to the secondary display at my work computer, which is not shown on my home computer's second monitor.

Thanks for the input. I will explore your suggestion, although I'm not very hopeful that it will resolve the problem. I work at a hospital and, for privacy/security reasons, they have the network very locked down (and I understand the need). I have contacted the hospitals IT help desk, but that function is farmed out to an independent contractor. They are only helpful, at best, with resolving the simplest issues. Otherwise, they simply function as message taking service. Because this issue is something that likely affects a very small number of people, it's difficult to get much traction. You've given me the most useful info I've received thus far, and I very much appreciate it.

A caveat: I have little technical knowledge, which may become quite evident in my subsequent comments.

The ability to use Windows App to make a remote connection is not something that I think I can control due to the stetting in which I work. I did download the app, but I cannot figure out how I can use it to connect remotely. I think it highly unlikely due to the fact that the hospital tightly controls remote access.

Here is the current procedure I use to gain remote access. I go to a URL: . That gets me to a page where I select the Remote Desktop icon. Selecting that link downloads an .ica file, which then connects me via Citrix (after entering my login credentials). I don't think I have the option to connect via Windows App.

This really is a question that should be addressed by the hospital's IT department. However, as indicated in one of my earlier posts, I have difficulty getting traction with them (small fish in a big pond and a pond that is populated with PC's not Mac's). Was hoping, apparently in vain, that there was something wrong I was doing on my end (it usually is user error, right?) that I could correct.

Will go back to bugging hospital IT. Thanks for your suggestion.
