Malware Warning Popup won't go away

I have a popup for "DragonDrop" will damage your computer. You should move it to the Trash. No matter how many times I press Move to Trash or Cancel, it just pops back up.

I am pretty versed in manually removing Mac malware, and have already checked the 3 important folders, and see nothing suspicious. I have also run Malware Bytes with no malware found.

There were a few shady Chrome extensions, which I removed. Otherwise, I am sorta stumped on this one... Any ideas?

Launch Terminal app, cut-and-paste the following (harmless) find command into the session, and press return:

find / -iname "DragonDrop"

That command will chatter (potentially a whole lot) about inaccessible files and such (ignore that), will (slowly) search the entire storage system, and will (eventually) find anything with a matching filename.

Another option is to install EtreCheck, and see if that can find any trace of the startup.

You will not find a file with that name on your Mac, and things like "Malwarebytes" won't help either.

The three screenshots of the traditional launchd directories are posted above, with nothing remarkable (to me).

There are other ways for apps to persist and to launch in macOS too, not the least of which is from within some app bundle via SMappService/BundleProgram (though that only works with notarization).

DragonDrop was an app around a decade ago, and can be far enough back to not be notarized.

I'm not seeing those screenshots, but I'm using an iPhone.

Yeah; tap on More and you'll get the posting text and most of the first image, and no more.

Switch from portrait to landscape and back to portrait mode, and see if that now reveals the other images for you.

(That P-to-L-to-P rotation reveals the images here, when testing on an iPhone.)

Seems an ASC bug, and have now forwarded a screen video reproducer along to our hosts.
