Loose USB port on iPhone 15 Pro Max
Hi,
I've been using the same brick and cable to charge it for a year but suddenly I have to plug and unplug it many times to maybe get it to charge. I tried three cables and bricks, including the cable that came with it and a 10W and 20W Apple brick. It's always the same thing. Strangely, I found one USB-A/C cable that consistently works using an old 10W brick, so I'm good for now.
I've searched here and elsewhere and a lot of people have had this problem but then someone suggests cleaning the port and the thread seems to become inactive. I already did that. I've even used a flashlight and toothbrush to see if maybe I've missed something, but it really does seem clean as a whistle. There is also no damage that I can see, and I've even never dropped the phone.
Anyway, I have AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss, so I could get it covered, but I've never gotten a phone repaired. Anyone ever had to get this fixed or heard of this being a common problem? I'm hoping that it would be as easy as walking into an Apple Store (which will take me three hours), handing them the phone, demonstrating the problem, and having them replace/clone it on the spot. Does that sound right? Would there be a fee?
Thanks.
