Pairing issue with used Airtag in Find My app

Hello, I bought a used Airtag and I can't pair it with my account, because it is still connected to another account. So I contacted the person and he said, he doesn't have the iPhone anymore but he can borrow a device from someone else, log in and log out of the Airtag. But when he did that, he can't see the Airtag in Find my app, so he can't delete it. What should we do? Thank you.

If the AirTag is not showing up in the Find My app on their iPhone, then in theory, it has already been removed from their Apple Account ... but this is not always the case.


Regardless, if they can't remove it, no matter the reason, Apple won't either ... and this AirTag will still be useless to you. Again you should return it and get your money back. If you really want an AirTag, just buy one directly from Apple.
