How do I add saved colors on my notes app on macbook air?

I often change between custom colors, especially the default color of the text, and utilizing the empty custom color boxes on the bottom of the color selector would be useful, however I have no idea how to access it.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 15.1

Drag the color from the big square on the left to a little square on the right.
