Outdated hotspot security settings on iPhone

My pc says it cant connect because of outdated security setting on my phone

The default security setting for Personal Hotspot in iOS 18 is WPA2/WPA3, which is the highest level of security available. Go to Settings/Personal Hotspot and turn off Maximize Compatibility if it is on. When it is on it lowers the security setting to WPA2, which should still meet Window’s standards.


The only thing I can think of that might interfere with Personal Hotspot is VPN. This is a long shot:


Do you have a 3rd party VPN installed, even if you are not using it? If so, delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile. If that fixes it, you can try reinstalling VPN.
