I cannot find that Nova has ever released a version of Print Artist for Mac. Their system requirements for Print Artist 22 Platinum say that, like the current version, it's Windows only. I have to believe therefore that any reference to "Mac" on sites like eBay for Print Artist are wrong or flat-out lies (the one or two copies I can find for sale on eBay say in the fine print that confirming actual compatibility is up the purchaser and that no returns are allowed). Hence the information I posted above about what you'd need to run that software will apply to that old version.
Regards.
If you're referring to the software from Nova Development:
https://www.novadevelopment.com/software/print-artist-gold-501369
that appears to be only available for Windows. So unless you want to run Windows on your system - for which you'd either need to use Boot Camp, if your Mac supports it, or would need virtualization software such as Parallels Desktop, plus a copy of Windows - you can't run that software on your Mac.
If that's not the "print artist" you meant, please post back and clarify.
Regards.
Thank you for responding.
The particular version of Print Artist, and yes you correctly identified the app I want to use, that I am considering to purchase, states it is for Mac. I am assuming that it is suitable for my purposes, but am wondering if anyone has had experience in using this particular version Print Artist 22 Platinum MAC CD. Any glitches, any additional programs, software, etc necessary to make the program operate given the version of OS Big Sur my machine uses?
The eBay seller claims that the package is "for Mac", but doesn't give us a good enough picture of the package to see the system requirements. Nor do they list these requirements themselves.
There is this:
"Seller does not accept returns."
"Macintosh Systems:
For Macintosh programs, most older programs will need to be run in Classic Environment if you have a MAC OS X 10.0 - 10.4 version. Please research Google on how to do this, or send us a message for information prior to purchasing. If your MAC OS system doesn't support Classic Environment (ie. MAC OS X 10.5 or Higher OR Intel Macs), you will have to try running it using the free program called SheepShaver, but compatibility is not ensured. Please research prior to purchasing or ask questions."
The latter suggests – to me – that a lot of the Mac software this eBay seller offers is so old that it was designed to run on Mac operating systems which predated Mac OS X 10.0, operating systems that only ran on Macs based on 68K and PowerPC chips.
If this software was built for a Mac from that era, it will not run at all on a modern Mac. It might even ship on 400K or 800K floppy disks that cannot be read by any modern Mac or any USB floppy drive.
For what it's worth, there is a listing for Print Artist Platinum 22 on Amazon that says that it is "Designed exclusively for Windows XP and Vista."
Nova once made a product called "Print Explosion Deluxe for Mac" that ran on Macs. However, it was for Macs that ran Classic Mac OS (System 7.6.1 or later) or early versions of Mac OS X (perhaps only ones that featured the ability to run Mac OS 9 applications using the Classic) environment. I'm pretty sure that this program is incompatible with all Intel-based and Apple-Silicon-based Macs.
FWIW, the version on ebay is not for Macs. See this page.
Thank you. I am requesting further information from the seller. I do appreciate your diligence in researching this issue.
