One or more contact list disappeared from Contacts on all my devices.

One or more contact lists disappeared from Contacts on all my devices (iPhone, iPad, MacMini, Macbppk Pro). Are these backed up somewhere? I have Time Machine Backups but I don't know what the file name would be.

I hate to say it, but I'm seeing a lot of bugs/issues with the latest updates.

If contact lists are missing on all your devices, follow these steps:

  1. Check Account Settings: Ensure the account linked to your contacts (e.g., Google, iCloud) is active and signed in.
  2. Verify Sync: Confirm contact sync is enabled in Settings > Accounts (Android) or Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud (iOS).
  3. Review Groups: In the Contacts app, ensure the correct groups or filters are selected.
  4. Check for Deletion: Log in to your account (e.g., Gmail, iCloud) and check for deleted or archived contacts.
  5. Restore Contacts:
    • Google Contacts: Use the Undo Changes feature.
    • iCloud: Restore from Account Settings > Advanced > Restore Contacts.
  1. Restart Devices: Refresh syncing by restarting your devices.
  2. Update Software: Ensure your apps and OS are up-to-date.
  3. Contact Support: Reach out to your account provider if the issue persists.

1) Contacts are only on Apple/iCould...no Google connection.

2) "Contacts" is selected in Saved to iCloud. I guess the concern is I accidentally deleted that Group/List, can I recover that somehow?

3) I am not seeing the "Neighborhood" list in the Contacts app. There are 6 other groups, which I assume are all the other ones but I haven't memorized the list! :) I looked in the 'All Contacts' list in the app and the name I was looking for is not their either. So it appears when a Group disappears, it deletes all the contacts in that group. However, I created a new group, put in a contact and then tried to delete the group, but that isn't an option so it doesn't seem like a mistake on my part.

4) I'm logged into two Macs, my iPhone and my iPad. Issue exists on all devices.

5) There is no Account Settings > Advanced > Restore Contacts that I can find in the Contacts app or at the System level. Running ver.

Restarting my iPhone had no effect.

I looked in iCloud/Saved to iCloud and Contacts is turned on.

All my devices are at the latest version.

I will contact support if needed.

I will say that I cant be sure I had a Neighborhood list, but I looked for a contact entry for several neighbors, and they aren't found.

One or more contact list disappeared from Contacts on all my devices.
