Apple Watch battery drains rapidly after update

Apple Watch model # mu682ll/a. After this last update, i turned off the watch and turned it back on. Show 100% chargers. Approximately 30 minutes later it was dead. I recharged it and charge held until the following day. It doesn’t count my steps or move. The stands are off. I couldn’t get the different exercise apps to work properly. What do I need to do now so my watch works properly?

If the battery drains too fast after an update, see all the replies to:

FWIW, in some cases, unpairing the watch, completely erasing it, then pairing and restoring the backup will resolve the battery draining issue after an update. (Simply unpairing and pairing again may not work.)

Also, some people have found that simply waiting a few days after an update resolves the battery draining problem.
