Running iTunes on a new Windows PC

On my Windows 11 laptop, I downloaded the latest edition of iTunes. When I open iTunes I get the message “you don’t have enough permissions for this action”! The only action I attempted was to open iTunes. I have full control with the iTunes folder in my music, so what am I missing? Thanks for any help suggestions.

Does the System account also have full control of your iTunes folder and its subfolders? If not add it. You might also try holding shift as you launch iTunes to explicitly select your .itl file in case that preference is corrupt and triggering this error. Otherwise you may need to uninstall iTunes, then right-click the installer and use the Run as administrator option to reinstall it.
