I am having the same issue with access to AOL calendar post upgrade to OS 18.2. Open the Calendar App and you will get a password incorrect message. Quite the circus as it will keep insistently telling you this until you close the calendar app. So frustrating and no solutions that I can find. Apple app specific password will not work, AOL app specific password does not work nor does the normal AOL password. I tried in multiple sequences - order of entry of passwords and none will work. Logging out of your Apple Account will not solve the problem either of will a soft reset on OS device. Do NOT delete the AOL calendar account as you will not be able to add it back! You will be really finished if you do that. We will all have to wait until the finger pointing is done and someone issues a fix (Apple or AOL). This is not an issue with older devices that cannot upgrade to OS 18.2 so we can be sure the upgrade is the issue.

It isn't Apple saying that your password is incorrect it is AOL, Apple has no idea what it is.

And what did AOL support tell you when you contacted them?

You have to have both an AOL and Apple specific one time passcode do the password issue could lie with either Apple or AOL. Further the AOL password still works with the OS devices that were not updated to OS 18.2. Contacted AOL, they provided suggestions none of which get around the password error. Finally, even with the help of AOL it was not possible to add the CalDAV AOL calendar back to the device which the AOL calendar was deleted. You never even get to the password incorrect step as you cannot even add the calendar. You get an error stating adding the calendar failed.

This is still an issue post latest OS upgrade. Really wish that AOL and Apple would get together on this one since this issue has now persisted for over two months. Both my wife and I have the same issue rendering the AOL Calendar useless. Really wish there was come kind of solution or at least could determine who is to blame, AOL or Apple.
