The "Set Up New AirPlay Speaker" option typically appears in your Wi-Fi settings when an AirPlay-enabled device is in setup mode and broadcasting itself as a discoverable accessory.
Not knowing anything about what equipment you have other than the Anthem, here are some very basic steps you can try:
Step 1: Ensure the AVM 70 is in Setup Mode. Double-check with the device's user manual on how to do this.
Step 2: Check Network Broadcast: On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Wi-Fi. Look for a temporary Wi-Fi network from the AVM 70 (e.g., Anthem-Setup-XXXX). If visible, connect to it, and it should trigger the setup process via the "Set Up New AirPlay Speaker" prompt. Follow the on-screen instructions to configure Wi-Fi.
Step 3: Manually Configure with Anthem Web Interface: If the AirPlay option still doesn’t appear, manually configure Wi-Fi:
- Connect to the AVM 70’s temporary Wi-Fi network via your iPhone.
- Open Safari and navigate to http://192.168.1.1 (or check the Anthem manual for the default IP).
- Enter your Wi-Fi SSID and password in the settings.
- Save and reboot the AVM 70.
Step 4: Update Firmware: Make sure the Anthem AVM 70 is running the latest firmware.
Step 5: Check the Network Requirements: Ensure your router supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, as some devices only use this band during setup. Turn off AP Isolation or Guest Mode if enabled, as these can block communication between devices. Make sure Bonjour (Apple's discovery protocol) is enabled on your router. This is required for AirPlay.
If none of these steps helps, you should contact Anthem Support directly for further assistance with this matter as this is not an Apple product.
