Deleting Photos not freeing up storage on iPhone

so basically i deleted like all my photos, i only got 1.6k now. my phone has 128 GB and it says that my photos app is 80 GB, even tho i deleted so many photos. i dont have many apps or anything, its just “photos” eating up all my GB, i cant update or get new apps…help anyone?

When you delete a photo or video from your library, Photos saves it in the Recently Deleted folder for around 30 days in case you change your mind later and want to recover it. During that time, the photos/videos take up just as much storage as they did before being deleted.


If you are certain that getting back the storage is more important to you than possibly being able to recover those photos later, you can accelerate the process by deleting less important photos and videos from inside Recently Deleted. Of course, that means you cannot change your mind and recover them later.
