Weird issue with charger. Need thoughts and ideas!

Hey! please pardon my English grammar.

I have an usb-c charger (one of the bigger squared ones) that I use to charge my iPhone, my iPad and changing the cable also my Apple Watch. Recently it stopped charging my phone and my iPad (it starts charging when connecting but 3-5 seconds later it stops). I thought it was the cable and I bought a new one and guess what! Same issue with the new cable 🤔 the funny thing is it continues to work with the Apple Watch charging cable and it charges the device properly, but when I try the iPhone or iPad it’s not working. I thought about buying a new charger and I’m even considering my devices are damaged lol

Does anyone have an idea about what could be happening? Should I just buy a new charger? Why does it charge some things and others don’t?

thanks!!!

Ok, thanks for clarifying that.

It may be possible that this power adapter is now defective. The fact that it can still charge your Apple Watch may indicate that it is still capable of charging devices that have very low power requirements.

Not sure how long you have had this power adapter, or what is has been through, but getting a replacement (as you mentioned) would serve, at least, two purposes: 1) It would verify that the existing adapter is faulty, and 2) Provide you with a spare in case it doesn't.

Having both your iPhone and iPad fail would be unlikely, but again, we have no idea what they have been through to know for sure.
