Mouse seems to be jumpy when trying to select something

I have a new iMac M4 with the factory mouse. From the get go, once I would use for a bit, it would be tough to lock into a spot to select something. This is especially tough when trying to close or maximize a page. It may subside if you let the mouse 'rest' or change the surface you're using it on. I have tried different pads, plain paper and cleaning. They helped for a little while but wasn't a good fix. I have read through the current support articles.

There can be several things at play that, if corrected, mean you can continue to use your Magic Mouse:

Make sure the internal battery is fully charged.
Check the mouse's sensor window on the bottom. Even one hair across it can cause unexpect mous movements.
Make sure your mousepad surface is flat and clean.

I ended up with a Bluetooth mouse from the store and it seems to be a lot better. This was my first Mac computer. I own iPhone and iPads. Just expected top quality out of the whole computer. Oh well. Thanks for the response.

Hi,

I suppose your Magic Moue is something wrong. Try to get inexpensive Bluetooth mouse and see if it works.

I can't stand my apple mouse, brought a Logitech bluetooth mouse works perfectly.
