Epson Printer Driver installation fails.

I am using a 2014 Mac Mini running Monterey 12.7.6 and it cannot be upgraded to Ventura due to its age.

I have down loaded the dmg file which Epson Support tells me is the correct one for my new Epson SC P706 (known as the P700 elsewhere). This printer driver installation fails. Epson suggest it is a security issue but in Privacy and Security the Firewall is turned off.

Epson suggested I create a new Admin User but the driver installation failed here as well.

I have reset the Printer Software in Printers and Scanners in System Preferences with no better success.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Mac mini, macOS 12.7

Are you attempting to use a printer driver (and/or other files) from the following or a similar web page?

https://www.epson.com.au/products/inkjet/SC-P706.asp

The Epson SC-P706 is listed as a supported printer in About AirPrint - Apple Support. This means that it should work without additional drivers/software, at least if it is connected to a network (the same network as the Mac mini). AirPrint may or may not offer all features/settings provided by a separately installed driver from the printer manufacturer.

How is your printer connected? Just as a comparative test, could you check whether AirPrint would work (without an extra installed printer driver)? You could connect the printer by Ethernet cable to one of the LAN ports of a Wi-Fi router, or wirelessly to the router.

Thanks for your response.

Yes I was using that version of the installation but it repeatedly failed. I have now gone back to the setupnavi and now have what appears to a working driver etc. but I do not have any of the associated Epson ICC profiles. I am assuming an incompatibility with my version of the OS and that .dmg file despite what Epson says. I have now asked them to email me the relevant profiles so I will see what comes of that request.
