Removing explicit off podcast

i have a podcast that’s been going for years. It seems as if it’s been flagged as explicit when it’s not (we have had 1-2 guests swear and we have marked those episodes as E for explicit). I have contacted apple support as would love to get this removed. Has anyone had success in this? It’s really hindering my downloads and really frustrating as 99% of the episodes do not feature anything explicit. I’d also happily remove / edit any with swear words. Any help?

Are you creating your podcast directly in Podcasts Connect rather than using a feed? (I can't see that they would be able to edit a feeed).

In any case, if you have even one episode which is explicit, then the overall podcast must also be flagged as explicit. Presumably if you edit the episodes in question so that you can remove the tag then they will remove the overall one, though you may have to draw theuir attention to it: https://podcastsconnect.apple.com/contact-us

Apple don't flag a podcast as explicit - you do that in the feed. there is a tag within each episode, <itunes:explicit>, and one covering the entire podcast. The latter must read

<itunes:explicit>true</itunes:explicit>

if even one episode has the "true" setting. Episodes with no swearing etc. are labelled

<itunes:explicit>false</itunes:explicit>

As you have a couple of episodes marked as explicit, the tag for the overall podcast has to read 'true' as it evidently does, and this is correct. (Failure to observe the rules can get you removed).

Incidentally, explicit language is not permitted in titiles or descriptions, no matter how the tag is set.

Thanks heaps Roger. It has actually been done by Apple. It says in the podcast for creators platform Apple app “edited by Apple support team” next to the explicit section then has a sentence that this has been edited by them. I was confused bc I know in my hosting platform I hadn’t marked the whole show as explicit. I’m just trying to see how it can be removed. If I remove any podcast with any swear word will they remove it? It’s not marked as that on other platforms like Spotify. Just Apple which has the highest percentage of downloads.
