Touch ID unresponsive when connected to power

I'm taking up an earlier thread.

It seems I've got the same issue on a MacBookAir, 15'', M2, 2023, OS up to date.

Are there any recommendations on how to correct the issue?

Thanks for any ideas!

Hi,

It seems like there could be two major issues.

Hardware issue: There may be a malfunctioning in the Touch ID button, the Thunderbolt, or even your adapter. Try restarting your Mac, try booting in to diagnostic mode, or change an adapter. It also may be your issue ( e.g. Touch ID sensor senses your fingerprint by using electronically atoms or whatever in your finger, and your body reacts to the electric for example)

Software Issue: Try reinstalling macOS or boot in to safe mode.

If none works, just take your device to Apple Support.
