How can I disable a clip's video without muting its audio while keeping them both attached?

I am making a video where I switch between people's screens as one central audio plays, thus disabling part of one person's clip as the other is shown on screen. I would hate to have to detach audio from the clip that has it as it would make syncing the clips to the audio a nightmare. Is there a way I can disable JUST the video element while keeping the audio playing without detaching audio?

In the Video inspector set the Opacity to zero.
