iPad not recognizing HP printer

I rebooted/restarted everything. My iPad shows the wi-fi connection and printers blue light is solid showing that it has wi-fi connection, but my iPad won’t recognize it. I bought the iPad from an AT&T store in WI. I am currently in AZ for 6 months and the AT&T store said they can’t help me with an apple product….SERIOUSLY!!!!!! I have been working on this for 3 weeks, SOOOOOOO frustrating!!!!!!!
