YouTube two-step verification issue on new iPhone 16 Pro Max

I just traded my iPhone in for a new 16 Pro Max and ever since during the two step Google verification process I get the code and it says to open a YouTube app and the app doesn’t have anything prompting me for the code. On my old iPhone 13 during the two-step verification, I would get the two digit numerical code and right away that YouTube app would open automatically asking me to click. Yes this is me and then it would ask me to enter the code. I tried deleting the YouTube app and reinstalling it but no change. Has anyone else had this problem? I have a YouTube channel and this issue is really holding me back from posting because I can’t log in. I can’t even log into to my regular google account since I got the new phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
