Apple Watch 10 cellular pairing issue with different Verizon accounts

Me and my wife are on two separate Verizon accounts, she bought me a watch 10 with cellular on her account, but when I pair it to my phone it’s asking me to get a line under my account. Everything I read online says it just needs to be the same carrier, which it is but nothing about it needing to be on the same account as the phone it’s trying to pair. Is it possible or do we have to return it and get under my Verizon account?

You should be able to rectify the issue with a call to Verizon Customer Support. Request that the watch data service on her account be canceled, and then have watch data service added to your account. The service rep may walk you through how to supply info from the watch to complete the request.
