ultra 2 cellular

I have an apple watch that pairs to my phone. Will the Ultra 2 do that, or must I get a new cellular account if I buy it?

If you want to originate cellular calls from the Ultra 2 without proximity to the paired iPhone, the Ultra 2 will need to be added to the existing iPhone cellular plan.

A cellular Watch works the same as a Wi-Fi Watch, so long as the Watch is in range of the paired iPhone.

Watch prefers to operate “parasitically”, using the greater power reserves and the larger and more capable cellular hardware of the paired iPhone.

If Watch is out of Bluetooth range and needing to power up and use its own in-built cellular communications hardware, the Watch will need to be associated with the iPhone cellular plan.

You can have multiple Watches paired with one iPhone. Each Watch needing independent cellular communications will need to be known to the carrier.

Watch effectively operates parasitically with regard to the cellular plan, too. Each Watch needing cellular comms needs to be added to the iPhone plan.

You can transfer the cellular plan from one Watch to another, if you are replacing an existing Watch and don’t wish to run multiple devices associated with your cellular plan.
