M4 Pro - TB5 hub - dual ROG PG32UCDM

My M1 MBP Pro, works perfectly with two ROG PG32UCDM, closed lid, through TB5 cables and new OWC TB5 hub. When I move the TB5 cable from the M1 MBP to the M4 MBP Pro, I can only get one monitor working. Not sure where to go with this. Tried TB4 cables and a TB4 hub but got same issue.

Configuration is simply two monitors plugged to TB5 hub on their USB-C port. Hub connected to MBP. All TB5 cables from OWC. Confirmed I can get either monitor working but not both...

Is your “M1 MBP” actually one with a M1 Pro or M1 Max chip? (M1 MBPs with a plain M1 chip could only drive one external monitor.)

Does the “M4 MBP” have a plain M4 chip, a M4 Pro chip, or a M4 Max chip? I believe that one with a plain M4 chip would support Thunderbolt 4 but not Thunderbolt 5. Then one question would be whether the new Thunderbolt 5 dock was backwards compatible with Thunderbolt 4.
