Unique serial numbers for Apple devices

Should each apple device have its own unique serial number? Can two devices have the same serial number?

Any device, from any manufacturer, that has a serial number will have a unique one. Otherwise there wouldn't be any point in having serial numbers at all. If the sellers claims otherwise, he or she is either vastly misinformed or is lying to you (the latter being my suspicion).


I don't know of any place where Apple states that in writing, though you can contact Apple Support and ask. As to the serial numbers of AirPods:


Find the serial number of your AirPods - Apple Support


If yours indeed have two serial numbers the same or they're not in the places where Apple says they should be, then your devices are almost certainly fake.

I suspect you bought fake AirPods. They should and DO NOT have the same serial number as a different pair. Each earbud should have a different number and the case a different number from the earbuds themselves.
