Send device with different serial to Apple Trade In

I'd like to know if it's OK to send a device with different serial number from the one I registered in the trade-in. It's the same device, iPhone 11, but I decided to sent my wife's device instead of my old one.

I believe that is not acceptable. The serial number you presented when you set up the deal is associated with the device the trade-in partner expects to receive. Contact Apple Support for further instructions if you wish to pursue this.
