Can I trade in a different serial number Ipad than originally entered?

We have two Ipads that are worth the same for trade in. When I placed order number W1332773685 I used the serial number from the one my husband wants to keep. Can I send in the other Ipad instead?

iPad, iOS 10

At best you should expect a major delay if you do this. The traded iPad is likely to be rejected, returned to you, and the entire process restarted.

If this happened to me, I would contact Apple Support and seek their assistance.

Or you might consider actually trading your husband’s iPad (with the serial number you provided), thoroughly cleansing the other iPad (as follows), and giving it to your husband.
