Is it safe to share an iPhone 13 Pro Max serial number?

I have a new sealed box IPhone 13 Pro Max that I listed on eBay for sale and someone asked for the serial number. Is it safe to give it out.

Windows, Windows 11 (26200)

There should be no danger to you. We don't like quoting serials on public websites as they can be used to spoof fake phones. Private eBay message is fine.

The buyer probably wants to ensure he is not buying a fake.

Generally there is no need to share a serial number with anyone other than Apple or Authorized Apple Service Providers. If selling it to someone the perspective buyer may want it. Insurance companies and law enforcement may need it (in some regions/countries).
