why is my iphone 13 pro, with 128 GB capacity running out of storage ?

I have 30 apps installed 115 photos and 16 videos it shows 126.35 GB used, in contrast my wife's 14, same capacity, has 56 apps installed, 5,245 photos and 302 videos yet hers shows 78.05GB available, both running 18.1.1. Any idea of what I am doing wrong? Please this old technological ignorant.
