Magic Trackpad Gestures Not Working

I was recently gifted the new Magic Trackpad and am unable to scroll or get any of the multi-touch gestures (swipe left between desktops, notification center, mission control, etc) to work. I can only move the cursor. I currently use a 2017 15in MacBook Pro with an Intel Core i7 Chip and have the most recent macOS Ventura 13.7.2 software enabled. Does anyone know if the new Magic Trackpad is supported with this setup? I use a 2023 MacBook Air M2 for work and the Magic Trackpad works as expected, so I am wondering if this is a software issue. Any insight would be super helpful!
