ipod not showing in apple music or itunes

I'm trying to update my ipod nano, but it won't appear in either apple music or itunes. it appears in windows explorer.

I have already tried:

uninstalling, rebooting, installing itunes and apple music

uninstalling ipod drivers (ipod not plugged in at the time), normally a popup appears for itunes asking if i want to itunes to connect to ipod

Reformatted ipod in windows

But nothing has happened

I have an iPod Nano. As far as I know, we are supposed to use iTunes to download podcasts to the computer, and the Apple Devices app for Windows to add and delete podcasts to the iPod. The Apple Devices app was working for me all summer and Fall. I noticed about two weeks ago that the Apple Devices app no longer recognizes my iPod Nano. I am on Windows 11. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Apple Devices app, re-set my iPod, checked the drivers, etc. and nothing has helped.
