PNY 128 Drive formatted using Disk Repair on the same laptop. Drive is formatted FAT32. Changing ports does not help. Drive mounts fine on my (also new) Mac Mini with M4 Pro, and on a Windows machine.
I have already submitted a bug. Wondering how many others are seeing this.

Reformat the USB on a Windows PC. This worked for me. You have to deeply format the drive with a dedicated app such as the free diskgenius if the built-in format option still does not work.
brother, try exFAT instead of FAT32. I had same issue with my 256 gig hard disk. to make it compatible, I first transferred all my data to my windows system. then formatted my hard disk to exFAT. then copied back again.
Now having no problem.
to actually USE that USB stick, have you considered formatting as exFAT ??
exFAT supports larger everything.
Tried a different flash drive with the same systems and same access tests?
I have tried reformatting my PNY 256 GB drive in both FAT and Ex-fat. It won't mount on my Mac either way. The Mac Mini mounts it with no problem.
I have a 128 GB Sandisk. It is formatted FAT, and mounds on both machines with no problems.
is the drive seen in Disk Utility?
can it be repaired in Disk Utility?
same MacOS version on each machine?
have you effectively isolated this to M4 processor?

Yes, same OS version on both machines (Sequoia 15.2). As I said, it doesn't mount on my M4 Max Macbook, but it DOES mount on my M4 Pro Mac Mini, and on my i9-based Windows 11 PC. So no, I can't say it's isolated to being an M4 issue, because the M4 Mac Mini mounts it with no problem.
Yes the drive is seen in Disk Utility, and as I said, I even reformatted the drive in DU, but even then it wouldn’t mount.
I'll try that, but why can't it mount a drive that is formatted on the same machine? Seems like a bug to me.
Reformatted on my PC. Didn't help. Mounts quickly on my Mini and my PC.
Are you using a Macbook? If so, which year and processor?
