Random Expensive Apple Charge?

It is 2:37 AM, I was just on my phone which has my debit card attached to the Apple Pay, when all of a sudden I got a notification in my apple wallet that $21.95 was just now paid/charged from my card, I have no idea what this is for as I have no subscriptions and I don’t want to be paying a large amount of money ($22)?! For no reason from apple, I want to remove my card at this point, why am I getting random

charges?

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 16

It’s not Apple Pay, it’s your Apple Account (formerly Apple ID) payment method. The Apple Support articles below explains how to change Apple Account payment methods. Removing a card from Apple Wallet will not remove the payment method from Apple Account. People are often confused when they remove it from the Wallet app and it’s still being charged for purchases, subscriptions etc.
