Insufficient storage and iCloud issues on iPhone

So for a while now my phone has been saying I have no storage when I really don’t have that much on my phone. It’s not as big a problem as it used to be sure, but I don’t have enough for updates and stuff.

heres the other thing, I upgraded my iCloud from 5gb to 200 or something (big jump so I’m probably remembering it wrong) a while ago and all was good, then it’s suddenly gone back down to 5 again even though I’ve already gone up with the payment, but I don’t know if it’s still charging me for the upgraded storage, and when I try to upgrade it again it says something like ‘can’t upgrade try later’. i barely have any photos or videos in my phone, WhatsApp seems to have some videos that take up alot but those are videos from when I was little and stuff so I don’t really want to delete them.

any help on how I can sort this out?

Hello iplayguitars, There is a difference between iCloud Storage and the Physical IOS iPhone Storage. When Apple has a update or upgrade available for download it is the Physical Storage amount that comes into play not the iCloud Storage, which is used for backups.

What is your current iPhone model and Physical storage memory? You can find that out by going to Settings > General > iPhone Storage. Look on the second line below iPhone line that will tells you the amount of FREE storage you have available. The top line tells you how much you have used from your total amount of Physical storage. If you look down a little further on the same page you have options to Offload Unused Apps that might help you.
