No not the lens but it can damage the CMOS sensor in the camera. The CMOS sensor is what converts light into an electrical signal.

Best avoid getting yourself injured by exposing yourself to dangerously-configured equipment.


If somebody is being foolish with a laser, be somewhere else.


As for lasers and camera sensors and damage, yes, the potential for that damage has been known for a while:


Higher-powered lasers are particularly hazardous to sensors. And to people. And to eyesight.
