Apps deleted after updating to IOS 18 but they still have their memory

I have an iphone 11 and i was hesitant to update to IOS 18 because of how heavy it was supposed to be but I finally did and found that one of my main apps, Tiktok had been deleted. When i went to the app store It was as if i’d never even downloaded it. However when i did download it again, it had already signed me into my account. However, I lost all my drafts, which is something that happens when the app is deleted. I’m not sure if there are other apps that have been deleted, but I sure hope not. In addition to this the phone has been very laggy since i picked it up after the update. Any advice/help?

In all the iOS upgrades and updates I have done over the past decade I have never had an app be deleted. So I suspect this was coincidental and you did something else to accidentally delete the app.

Have a look at your battery usage. Check the iPhone battery health and usage - Apple Support

It is possible that just after an iOS update there may be some background activities such as indexing going on. See if Home and Lock Screen are high on the list.

It's not always the iOS update's fault!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Remember, the right question often leads to the solution!

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. The majority of the issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.
