“Lockdown Mode blocked [contact name] from contacting you.”

I received this notification on my watch today, a few hours after getting a notification on my phone about Lockdown Mode blocking focus sharing. I have been on Lockdown Mode for months. I last updated iOS to 18.1.1 and watchOS to 11.2 more than a week ago.

I know that Lockdown Mode has prevented my phone from receiving an iMessage in the past, which instead came through on my Macbook.

The contact in question is my boss, so I don’t want to ask them about this, but I do ideally need to receive all communication from them. They’re on all my Focus whitelists already.

Why did I receive this notification?
