Since I got the 16, with the USB-C port, I have had an inability to turn the volume down to an acceptable level on my earbuds like I could on my lightning connected 14.
I have seen many others voice the same frustration with no help from Apple.
I discovered today that Apple makes a dongle that will plug into your USB-C device, and you can then plug in lightning headphones/plugs/buds to it and voila! You can take the volume down low just as before.

Report this Bug and its Fix to Apple:
Do your Part: These are just user-to-user forms. Apple barely reads the forums as it is on their own time and will. Apple will know nothing of this concern, if you do not spread the word to them. So, report it to Apple. They wont get back to you directly, but the more they hear about this, the more likely they will look into, knowing what is going on. They will know knowing of this fix, if you don't report it to them.
Yeah but I don’t need it on headphones/earphones. I can’t fall asleep with those in my ears.
listening toy Bible app at night to fall asleep to. I can’t do this now because minimum volume is equal to 5-6 on iPhone 11 that I had before.
