Poster printing feature in MacBook Air's Apple Preview

I wish to print out larger pages across several A4 pages. Preview does not allow this. Adobe Acrobat Reader used to allow this but poster printing is now only a paid option.

Will Apple be introducing this feature to Preview any time soon, or do I have to pay for an expensive Adobe subscription?

Poster printing is as much a function of your printer's drivers as anything else. If you have a printer with poster printing check to see if they have available drivers for your MacOS that let you use the Page Setup feature to go to larger sizes.

Future prognosis of what Apple will offer is strictly forbidden on this forum. Apple has made no such announcements that I'm aware of.

offers a product called Clickbook with many different custom formats not typically added by Apple. You may find one of their features makes better sense for poster printing price wise and otherwise.

Thank you for the reference to Clickbook. At US$50 pa, that is a good deal more expensive than I thought justified for my occasional need. My little HP 9020 inkjet printer doesn’t have any such capability it seems, but I’ll investigate the HP drivers and website further.

I have found a workaround, not as good as Adobe used to be, and that is I copy/paste the oversized page onto a blank Excel spreadsheet as a picture and then use the multi-page printing capability of Excel to create a poster. The borders don’t overlap like Adobe does, but it is adequate for printing A3 images across 2 or 3 A4 sheets. Seems OK for my purposes for printing out big tabulations and graphs etc for business.`I can always buy an A3 printer for about A$250 which is where I might need to end up.
