How to turn my child’s find my iPhone location to always on

Just got my child an iPhone for Christmas, parental controls are on. When setting up find my iPhone for her it only gives me the option for never, once, or while using the app. How do I get always share to be available?

Those are in Settings -> Family -> Location Sharing of the Family Orgznizer’s phone and the Child’s.


Then “Lock it Down” in the Child’s phone w/ restrictions on changing their AppleID.


Question: Did you first establish the Child’s AppleID from the adult Family Organizer’s device as described here? :
