Turning off Find my iPad on child's phone

I am trying to turn off the Find My iPhone feature from my son's iPad and it is not allowing me to do so (actually cannot access the relevant option by clicking on his name in the iPad settings). He is under 13 and part of the family plan and I’m wondering if that is why. Looking to install enhanced controls via kidslox but Find My iPhone/iPad needs to be off in order to this.

Any ideas?

Hello kyp1968,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities.

This is most likely being caused by Screen Time Content & Privacy Restrictions. Please go to this Apple Support article for additional details on how to resolve this: If your Apple ID is greyed out in Settings.

You can find detailed instructions for disabling Find My here: Turn off Find My on your iPhone or other devices.

All the best!
