iPad 6th Gen. Forgotten passcode

I am now at my wits end. I have an ipad 6th generation. I've used it, a friend used it for a bit, then back to me. I tucked it away for a bit, but recently pulled it out as I want to use it as a planner. When I went to sign in, I couldn't remember the password, so I did some research to find out how to correct this. NOTHING has worked. It just keeps telling me i need the passcode for the email address attached to the ipad. I've updated iTunes to the latest version, downloaded Apple Device, tried restoring on iTunes, answered all the "security" questions ( yes, this ipad is definitely mine. No shady stuff here), tried with another device (I have an older iPhone and a 5th generation ipad). It seems everything i try, I get some stupid arse road block. I don't know what else to do. The 6th generation will use the pencil, but not the 5th. What in the world do I need to do, to reset this ipad so I can use it again. This is driving me nuts!!!!
