Photos on iPhone are not synching with MacBook after iOS update

Ever since I updated my iPhone, the pictures are no longer syncing with my MacBook. WHY??? I have checked all my settings, I have googled how to fix it and nothing I have tried has worked. This is really frustrating!

I know that my 16 and Mac are syncing properly with iCloud.com.

This is hard without knowing what you've tried, so I, too, am frustrated. Have you

  • re-started your Mac?
  • Forced restarted your iPhone?
  • re-started your Mac in Safe Mode?
  • Checked to see if the Photos Library you are using is your System Library?
  • Looked to see what's at iCloud.com?
  • Checked the "syncing with iCloud" indicator on your iPhone?
  • Checked the "syncing with iCloud" indicator on your Mac?
  • If you're using an external drive for your Library, checked its formatting?
  • tried a different user on your Mac?
  • determined that you have more than 10% free storage on your Mac?
  • determined that you have more than 10% free storage on your iPhone?
  • determined that you have more than 10% free storage on your iCloud account?

Other things I think of depend on what you've checked so far-- and what results you got from each trial, so I'll stop.

Let me know if you need clarification about some of the suggestions…

I didn't change anything in my settings but wondered if the update impacted that

Nothing changed for me with the update, so probably not. But it's hard to say without more details. Do you have more than 10% free storage everywhere? It could be that the update used more storage and put you over the edge somewhere.
