Using Apple TV with Chromecast

The website identifies that to cast Apple TV with chrome cast you need to open the website Apple TV. However, every time you try to do this, my phone automatically takes me to the Apple TV app or says your need the latest iOS and I upgraded to the latest version. My phone won’t let me open Apple TV website despite the Apple instructions to do this. How do I get my phone to stop directing me to the Apple TV app but instead allow me to sign into the Apple TV website as Apple suggest?

this question has been raised before and Apple support blamed chromecast without answering the above question. So please answer the specific question this time.

You can choose to open the website tv.apple.com with a different browser: Chrome instead of Safari. It will still offer to open the Apple TV app on Apple devices, but you can choose “no” to that. If you already have said “yes” to that before, then you may need to delete and reinstall Chrome (I have no idea where that specific setting is stored, but a reinstall will reset it).
