I fixed this by temporarily disabling the apple VPN in the drop down menu, the app worked fine to log in after and I was able to re-enable it after with no issues

Facebook and Messenger are not Apple apps. Delete the app and download a copy from Apple App Store and if issue persists you’ll need to contact Facebook support team for additional assistance.
Make sure your iPhone is updated to the latest iOS version and update your Facebook app. If you’re using a VPN, try turning it off.

Yo también tuve la misma problema y tuve que desactivar el configuración de VPN. Ya cuando lo apagué abrí la aplicación de Facebook y me dejó entrar
