Rename my Boot Disk in MacBook Pro running macOS Sonoma

I want to rename my boot disk on macOS 14 on an intel Macbook Pro. How can I do that without erasing everything?

Highlight the name of the drive on the desktop and change the name as you would any file or folder.

If you are using Time Machine, and after renaming the operating system's icon on the Desktop, see if you can restore an arbitrary file from before the renaming event.
