Need help freeing up storage space on my granddaughter's iPad

I'm writing to help my 10 year-old granddaughter free up space on her iPad. It's a 9th generation model # MK2L3LL/A running IOS 18.1.1. 64 GB of memory.

The storage is almost full of files from YouTube that her mother subscribed to before giving the tablet to her daughter. About 37 GB worth; the remainder is granddaughter's Minecraft, etc.

I can't figure out how to delete the older YouTube podcasts, programs, files, etc., to make room.

I'm really good with my Mac Studio and graphics, but this has me stumped.

We'll appreciate any help in making room for more kids' games, dress-up files, and Roblox!

Ed in Brooklyn.

iCloud is syncing storage and is mostly self-managing. In other words, things in iCloud are also stored on devices too. Remove them from iCloud and they get removed from devices too. iCloud is not archival storage. I would guess those document and data are in iCloud Drive. I don't use iCloud Drive so I don't know where it gets its files but I would guess from the Documents folder on a computer. As far as I know the only way to get rid of that data is to put it somewhere on the computer where iCloud can't see it and try to sync it to your iPhone.

Are you using optimization as mentioned in? -->
