Will changing my Macbook Pro battery help with my problems?

So I've had the service recommended notification on my 2017 Macbook Pro for around 2 years now, and I have some problems that I'm hoping will get fixed if I replace the battery.

  1. Macbook battery life is not long, and will "die" around 30-40% (will have to plug into charger just to turn back on)
  2. Macbook will randomly get black screen sometimes, mostly when opening laptop and trying to login
  3. Fan will continue running very loudly when macbook is in sleep mode, and will get very hot
  4. I could work on my mac, take a break for 30 min, and when I return to my mac it has logged me out and I have to open all my applications again, which is really annoying

So I'm not sure if all these problems are battery related, but if anyone has any insight I'd love to know if replacing my battery would help with these problems. Let me know, thanks!

If you see Service Recommended on your MacBook Air or MacBook Pro - Apple Support

Not all of those symptoms are directly associated with a battery that needs service (for example #3 doesn't seem right; if the fan is running it's not sleeping) but nothing will work well on a portable Mac unless everything does — especially its battery.

Bring it to Apple for a thorough diagnosis. They don't charge for that. If Apple provides assurance a new battery will fix those problems and that no other hardware problems are evident, it places all responsibility on them.

#2 is most likely due to a faulty display cable which is common with that model due to a design & manufacturing flaws. But it could possibly be due to other reasons as well, but the battery is not very likely.

#3 is more likely due to some third party software that is installed which is preventing the system from sleeping, although it could also be syncing items to iCloud.

Personally I would not spend any money on repairs for this laptop for multiple reasons, plus a 2017 model is now considered by Apple to be "Vintage" so repairs are only possible as long as the necessary parts are still available. The money spent on repairs would be better put towards a new laptop.
